Why did you choose Lakeland's Family Medicine Program: I chose Lakeland because of the strong sense of community and camaraderie among the residents and faculty. Additionally, I was impressed by the extensive training they provide in both urban and rural settings, as well as their lifestyle medicine curriculum.

Why did you choose Lakeland's Family Medicine Program: Lakeland was my first choice because of the high support I felt from the staff and residents. I see residency as the ultimate time to prime our skills for life, and a happy, nontoxic learning environment is foundational during this growth period. To me, Lakeland is a Providence-given opportunity to have the training that’ll make me the best physician I can be. And there’s a plus! It’s located around beautiful orchards on the beachy coast of Michigan!

1. Because of the comprehensive family medicine curriculum with osteopathic recognition. Offering training in wilderness medicine, nutrition/cooking, hospice care, among others.
2. Because of the care and support they demonstrate toward residents. Not only do they help us in the academic area, but also with housing.
3. Because of the unity and collaboration they portrait as a team.

Why did you choose Lakeland's Family Medicine Program: I was fortunate enough to experience Lakeland as a base student for my clinical rotations.  It was through my time working with the team here at Lakeland that I realized that Lakeland provides a friendly environment conducive to learning that I would like to be a part of. Corewell Health Lakeland is also close to my family in Kalamazoo and is close to the population I am looking to serve in the future here in Southwest Michigan.

Why did you choose Lakeland's Family Medicine Program: The moment I finished my audition, I called my family and told them this is the place I want to be because it felt like home. I had never been as welcomed before by a group of people who I had just met, and even as a medical student, the residents and faculty treated me as a peer and not only respected my input, but encouraged it. I also felt challenged during case presentations and knew this was the environment that would allow me to grow into the best possible physician I can be.
